Irwin Series 8 Coverage!

I’ve just put up coverage for Irwin’s Series 8. This includes Dabura(h), Videl, Goku with Halo, SS Gohan, and the elusive Trunks and Goten two-pack, which is not yet available, but will hit store shelves soon.

In the current case assortments, Videl is extremely short-packed, so she’ll be much harder to find than the others (other than G&T, of course).

Custom Submissions Open, Pigs take to the air

What’s this?
A Customs Submission Period?
Have I gone mad?

Well, yeah— but that has nothing to do with Customs!
So, take pictures of your customs, scan them up, do whatever it takes to send in your customs!

The following are the rules and regulations for the submissions:

  • Filetypes must be .jpg format.
  • Image size should be no more than 300 × 500 pixels
  • Please send information on how the figures were made (What figures went into making it, what paint was used, etc.)
  • Please send the images as attachments, rather than embedded in the actual email. This goes especially for AOL users

If these guidelines are not followed, the email will be deleted.

Also, if you are new to the customs section (If you haven’t submitted any customs here before), please send some additional information to me- Your name, age and location are optional- not required (For your safety)… also, a self portrait would also be helpful as it is YOUR page I will be making. Again, this is entirely optional in case you are uncomfortable doing this.

Send your customs to the following address: thekappa@dragonballtoys.com - ***NOTE: There is no underscore in this email address!***
Also, please title your email with your name and “customs”
Emails sent to “the_kappa” (with an underscore) will be deleted!

Also, this sumbission is all out- There was a maximum amount of customs in previous submissions— this time, send as many as you have!

Submissions end in one week’s time- Next Friday May 3rd— at 6:15 eastern time!

Thanks and good luck!

Irwin Series 8 Trunks&Goten

According to multiple sources, the Trunks&Goten two pack is not included in the series 8 cases that are hitting stores now. This set is still included in series 8, but will ship later, probably within a month.

Those of you who pre-ordered series 8 should double-check your prices and how many figures (or how much of a refund) you receive, just to cover your wallets.

Irwin Series 8 hitting stores!

According to a few e-mail’s I’ve received, and the Bobcat Report (natch), Series 8 is starting to trickle into stores.

Series 8 includes Dabura, Videl, Angelic Goku, SS Gohan and the Trunks&Goten 2-pack.

It’s probably a little premature for an all-out toyquest, but keep your eyes peeled. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

IF Labs Piccolo Released

For those of you who haven’t already found one in the last few days, you should know that the IF Labs Piccolo figure has hit stores.

Also, the non-specialty store versions of all four figures are out as well, which means that those of you waiting for a bone-white Cooler figure should set some money aside.

IF Labs Movie Collection II Add-On

Just a tidbit from IF Labs—

The second series of IF Labs Movie Collection figures will include a special “movie-card” with each figure. These cards, which will be the size of a regular trading card, will feature cel artwork from ‘Return of Cooler’. So, they’ll kind of be like a cross between a trading card and the action slides that came out with Star Wars figures a few years back.

You may have seen some of these movie cards for the upcoming Spider-Man flick; these DBZ cards will be similar, but better.

Oh, well, not really...

For all of you out there who got so excited about Kappa’s post yesterday that you forgot what day it was, I can only say one thing—”Ha Ha!”

Sorry, no Bandai DBZ figures this year (unless they happened to see yesterday’s post and thought it was such a good idea, in which case you’ll have to thank Kappa).

Bandai Japan to release new Dragonball figures!

HUGE news for the Dragonball figure community was just broken over on the Japanese Bandai website

It seems (In summation) that for the 2003-2004 release seasons, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Dragonball in Japan, Bandai Japan will release a new series of Dragonball and Dragonball Z figures, similar to the Super Battle Collection!

The series will consist of five series of releases- each consisting of five figures.
But the best part is the lineups themselves-

The first lineup will be a “twenty years of Goku” series and consist of:

  • Goku (Dragonball, with Nimbus)
  • Goku (Beginning of Z, with Baby Gohan)
  • Battle Damaged SS Goku
  • SS Goku (in Saiyan Armor, Cell Saga)
  • SSJ3 Goku (with Halo)

The second lineup will consist of characters never before made by Bandai (and one not even planned by Irwin!) Lineup #2 consists of:

  • Piccolo Diamoah (Elder form, with “newly hatched” Ma Junior (“Baby” Piccolo))
  • King Kai (with Bubbles AND GREGORY!)
  • Imperfect Cell (with egg)
  • Krillin (A Bald Krillin by Bandai!)
  • Super Buu (the tall, muscular one)

The third line up will be dedicated to the Dragonball Z movies, but the actual contents of the line have not been made available at this time…
The focuses of the other two lines also have not yet been made available.

Each figure will retail for 2,600 yen (roughly $20.00 USD) and come in “collector friendly packaging”— More information can be read (If you have the Japanese font installed and can translate Japanese) at Bandai’s webpage- www.bandai.co.jp.

…It’s great to hear that Bandai hasn’t totally forgotten Dragonball Z. The only downside is the Import costs to bring them over here, as Irwin holds the rights to DBZ figures here in North America…

We’ll have more information (and hopefully images) as soon as we make the rest of it up!
