First there was the HG series, then there was HG+, and now there is HG+ EX! This will be the second series in the Bandai HG+ EX line, and looks pretty awesome so far! These figures have great sculpts, and while the articulation is simple, it’s extreamly effective! This set will include Broly, Piccolo, Mr. Satan, Gotenks and SS3 Goku! Can’t wait to see these guys up close!

Pictures and complaints are popping up all over the place, about what looks
to be a very serious design flaw in the otherwise brilliant Son Goku figure from Medicom Toys. The figure was only just released about 3 months ago, but already major cracking and splitting is being found in the rubber neck and chest pieces, as displayed in the photos above. So far the cause of the defect is unknown, and Medicom has not yet commented on replacing the faulty parts.

Son Goku was the first Dragonball themed figure by Medicom, but figures for a Super Saiyan Son Goku, Piccolo and Son Gohan are also on the way. Hopefully Medicom will be able to find a way to fix the problem, and this will not effect the remaining figures in the series.

Medicom has just announced that at least two Be@rbrick, (Bear shaped Kubrick figures.) figures will be released in promotion of the new live action Dragonball movie! The new Goku and Piccolo figures will feature clear, bear shaped heads, and also include the restyled live action movie outfits. It’s interesting to note that the Piccolo figure is indeed green in these pictures - which is perhaps some indiction of good news for fans who desire Piccolo to be more Manga/Anime accurate in the new movie. According to the Hobby Fighter Blog, Bandai will soon be releasing series 2 of their Amazing Arts series, this time featuring 4 busts of Piccolo, Vegeta, Goku and Bulma. Bandai’s Amazing Arts series did not include busts in the past, so it’s rather interesting that they have decided to continue this series with figures so alien stylistically to those in series 1. No word yet on release dates - check back later for information on these as it becomes available!

Pictures of these figures popped up on our forum not long ago, but no one seemed to know what they were…

Well, the mystery is finally solved!

These are in fact, NEW Bandai Soul of Hyper Figuration figures, with a series title of Chozoukei Damashii! There are 9 figures in the set, and each display the characters in classic battle poses. I had personally been under the impression that Bandai was through with the Hypers, so it’s wonderful to see the Hyper figures back in action, with what looks to be the best series yet! No news yet on release dates, and so far these are being released in Japan only!

Images of what looks like the Bandai Hybrid Dragonball Z toy line have shown up online in packaging similar to the most recently released Bandai America figure series. The packaging, which was used to bring fans the previously released Japanese Realworks line, could mean the highly sought after Hybrid figures are finally making their way to American shores…or these could be European re-releases…

Only time - and fans finding them on shelves - will tell…
