In a recent new update, I mistakenly said that these amazing new Goku and Broly statues where from the already active Banpresto series, Dragonball Creatures. This has ended up being totally false! My bad! Introducing the insanely awesome, DX Max Muscle Mania vol.1 series! Never before has so much muscle been packed into two figures! No release date yet, but the mind boggles as what other characters may eventually be included down the line!

For a great selection of Dragon Ball action figures and collectibles, check out fine sponsors YesAnimation.com, SuperheroToys.com, BigBadToyStore.com, WhiteWizardToys.com, CornerStoreComics.com, ToyWiz.com, and MonsterIslandToys.com.
I’ve been keeping a very close eye on this series, though I haven’t actually purchased any myself… After seeing these last two however, I may just have to start off a collection of them, starting with that Gotenks! These both looks incredibly well detailed in the photos, and I’m impressed that the Gotenks looks more like a child, and not just a little man. This is a difficult sculpt to pull off, considering the hard, manly features that generally come with being a third form Super Saiyan….
Banpresto continues to out do it’s self, and each month that goes by, I become more and more in awe. I was personally blown away by this newest revelation of the Vegetto and Gotenks, and can not wait to have them both on my shelves.

Children in Japan will be delighted to find new Dragonball items in their McDonalds Happy Sets, (A Japanese Happy Meal) this month! There appears to be 8 little balls in this series, and each one is some kind of mini game. It will be interesting to see more up close up pictures of these in the future, and hopefully McDonalds will produce a television commercial to go along with them, as they have done with past Dragonball Happy Set promotions. Mini Big Head Figures, Dragonball Ultimate Technique Ver.01 by Popy!
These are really neat looking! Popy’s signature Mini Big Head Dragonball figures, each with their own little mini special move energy blast! So far I’m loving the Goku doing the Kame Hame Ha with his feet! One of my very favorite moments in the whole series!
Popy has been releasing so many wonderful Mini Big Head figures in the past few years, that it’s easy to worry about them becoming stale and repetitive… If this new series proves anything however, it’s that Popy had it in them to take a fantastic old idea, and meld it with a fantastic new one! Can’t wait to see these little guys up close!

Images of this very figure where posted here in November of last year, when it was still just an unpainted prototype. Even then however, it was clear that Medicos was truly cooking up something extra special for us… Now that images of the fully painted and finished figure are out, I’m literally speechless. This has to be one of the most striking and beautiful Goku figures to come out in a long, long time. Please check out the official Medicos Website for more information and images!

WOW! Look at the insane muscles on both of these figures! I’m not 100% positive that these belong to the Banpresto ‘Creatures’ series, but judging from the free for all detail, and more visceral nature of the sculpts, I say it’s a pretty good, educated guess! I’ve never seen a Super Saiyan 3 Goku quite like this before, an the bulging muscle and veins on the Broly rival even that of the IF Labs Broly from years ago! Can’t wait till these are out!

Just when I though this series was all over, I see this image! Unless I’m mistaken, the only figure in the line up above that has already been released once before is the Super Saiyan Goku. Other than that, it appears we will be getting another 3 beautiful additions to this already stelar line of figures! The Bardock will be on my personal wish list for sure, and the Broly certainly must be the largest figure yet in this series. Check back for more images of these as they become available!

Other figures in this series included another Bulma, and a Chi-Chi figure that was very popular with fans! It’s very rare for toys to ever be made of any of the female characters in the series, so it’s always a treat to find out about new ones! Check back for more photos soon!

This is exactly the type of thing that I wish was being brought over to America now! No sign of a due date yet, but check back or more images as they arrive!

Several often forgotten about versions of favorite characters, including Super Saiyan Goku in Saiyan armor, Super Saiyan Future Gohan, and Super Saiyan Trunks appearing very much the way he did in the Playdia OVA! I’ll be trying to track down a release date all weekend, but for now we will have to satisfy ourselves with this teaser photo!

So much great stuff revealed by Bandai at Toy Fair 2009! This new collection of figures mainly consists of re-releases of toys that came out in Japan years ago, which is great news for American fans, who may have had trouble importing some of these items in the past! These releases will include new additions to Bandai’s already active Ultimate Spark series, and new re-releases of the Bandai Real Works line! Most exciting is also the new Collectible Capsule Figures! As it turns out, they are indeed re-releases of older Megahouse toys! Megahouse is of course a company that has released so many great, high quality Dragonball figures in the past, and are much sought after by Dragonball toy collectors. Each Capsule Figure comes in a Dragonball shaped container, (Just like the original release!) that includes pieces to a figure that you put together yourself! Also included in each ball is an extra piece, so that when you collect all 7 figures, you can built Trunk’s Time Machine!

New Dragonball goodies spotted at the 2009 New York Comic-Con!
Figures.com, which is another site in the fabulous Action Online Newtwork, had the incredible chance this week to check out Comic-Con 2009 in New York, and came back with some amazing shots of new Dragonballl goodies on the way! We have featured images of both of these releases in past news updates here on DBT, but it’s great to actually see close up images this time around, and be able to get a better sense of the quality on these sculpts.
When images first started to pop up of the above Organic Goku bust, no one liked it… However after they see these new images, I doubt they will feel the same! Organic’s Goku bust reminds me so much of the incredible, large scale Goku that Bandai released into America in 1997 - it’s even in almost the exact same classic pose as that figure! Every muscle is incredibly well defined, and the detail is just exquisite. I wasn’t looking forward to this bust at all before, and now I can barely wait to actually see it up close!
Also on display, at the AAA Anime booth, was the amazing High Dream Corp Piccolo! Again, we have seen pictures of this guy on the front page before, but I swear in every new image I see of this guy, I grow more and more intrigued! The level of detail, as well as the added attraction of the base and rock platform this resin comes with, make it truly something special… A beautiful figure, with an even more stunning presentation!
All in all, some truly amazing Dragonball goodies thrown into the mix at Comic-Con this year! And not only was Dragonball represented, but represented by some really beautiful, high end stuff! To see more images from Figures.com’s coverage of Comic-Con 2009, please visit the gallery HERE

A very early picture of these popped up on our forum late last year - no one knew who was making them then, and it seems like no one knows now either! One thing has become positive though - this is a fantastic line up of Dragonball characters, and the sculpts look wonderful! It’s not often that we get any kind of new Yamcha or Tien figure, and with the quality thats already apparent in this photo, it’s really quite a shame that these aren’t full bodied sculpts! Hopefully much more news to come on these, check back for updates, and please do contact me if you know more about these!

Not totally sure if ‘200 Yen’ is really supposed to be part of the title for this series, but at the moment it would appear that it is. These unpainted prototypes above are of some small, and extremely inexpensive figures, which I think might actually be out in Japanese Goshapon machines right now! The add says ‘Jan’ for January in the corner - so unless I’m wrong, that means they were either already released, or we can expect them next year. More info on these as soon as it turns up!

These were just spotted by someone on our forum the other day in the latest issue of Previews magazine - They appear to be fruit snack Senzu Beans! Between this and the new energy drink that we reported on a few days back, it looks like a lot of new Dragonball food items are starting to pop up. It’s interesting that none of this is in relation at all to the new movie - nice to know that the anime can still inspire this kind of marketing even without being on tv at all!
