No, Viz isn't
publishing the Akira comics. I think it's Dark Horse
Comics.

to go on forever! right Legato?
I just started reading Housin Engi manga, its
supposedly another take on the popular Journey to the
west.
random fact, Seki Toshishiko (Legato and Duo) also
voices Sanzo from Saiyuki (COOL!)

For anyone who's
interested, here's the basic synopsis of The Big O:
"Roger Smith lives in a city where all the residents
lost their memories in an accident that occurred
over 40 years ago. He is a "negotiator" who deals with
memory thieves. Follow his adventures as he drives
his super-robo, Megamouth, to protect the memory
archives, regarded as precious because nobody in the
city can remember anything! Story by Hajime Yadate,
the creator of the Gundam series."
Sounds like fun. If, at times, the series does happen
to look similar to Batman: The Animated Series, that's
because it's by the same animation company that
co-produced Batman.

I can see why Viz is
a bit wary, the Trigun manga is pretty violent.
BTW, it's Dante Hicks who says that line from Clerks.
Randel's last name is Graves.

There's a lot of foul
language. And violence, there's heads exploding, people
being splatered all over the place, blood
flying everywhere, people being blown up and so
forth.

Lest we forget the
attempted rape scene, which showed brief nudity...
One of the more violent parts is when a
Military/Police company opens fire on just one guy.(He
gets pretty shredded.) A few people are squashed with
"super natural powers", there's a blown off arm, like a
head knocked off(or close to it), a vision of a
character spilling his guts onto the ground. And I'm
sure some events at the the end and the over all
dark/wacky nature of the film is just not healthy for
kids. (Actually...I remember the subbed version having
worse language than the dubbed...)

I don't remember too
well, it's been a while. There was a lot of violence,
but no where near the level of Fist of the North Star.
In the ATTEMPTED rape scene, the character is held by
gang members and her shirt is torn off.

Portugy, if you wanna
get picky, you actually made another grammatical error
in your second last post. You said that, "left in to
remind you all the Portugy is human too." Really, you
should have said, "left in to remind you all that the
Portugy is human too."

I like the way how
everyone maneuvers around to try and find out if an
anime has any nudity to avoid looking like a pervert.
First, they ask if there are any "bad" scenes. They then
wait for an answer, which usually results in addressing
just the violence. Unsatisfied, the anime "fan" then
very slyly, slips in a question about if there is any
nudity in the anime, again, craftily indicating that
they are not intersted in the nudity, but would just
like to know how "bad" it is. After a concerned citizen
has indicated that there IS nudity in the anime, the
anime "fan" is now captivated and wants to know more.
So, they now slickly, and very carefully, ask if there
is "a lot" of nudity, and if it is very "graphic."
Again, someone answers this, and the anime "fan," who
now knows that there is nudity, is satisfied with his
"slyness" in his "investigation," goes out and buys 10
copies of the anime.

Start fast-forwarding

Personally, I don't
care about how much violence/nudity/foul language a
certain anime has. So long as it has a good plot, great
characters, and a few memorable moments, none of the
violence/nudity/foul language matters to me.

Looks like somebody
got into the sugar pantry this morning, BUSHV88. Anyway,
I wasn't callin you a perv. I was only saying I like how
people try to avoid looking like a perv. If you really
want to know if there is any nudity(or violence), just
specifically ask if there is any and you'll get a quick
and simple answer. Don't get your panties up in a knot.

Ok, break up what
little there is to break up. Nobody cares if anyone's a
perv.
Speaking of sneaking around questions. I'm going to
cut to the chase: how many people get their guts/blood
spilled in the Kenshin OVAs, is there nudity, and can
someone give me specifics on everything.
Trigun Manga/Anime Comparison #1: The killing of
the Roadwreck/Rodrick member in the bar by
Legato. Anime: Nagi's arm is hyperextended into his
chest. All shots from the head up.
Manga: Legato forces Nagi to rip out his own heart.
Ouch.

OK, Back to anime.
The Kenshin OAV's are pretty graphic, there is a good
amount of blood shed from sword fighting. One of the 1st
scenes Kenshin pop a sword in a guy head then pops it
out again. There a few very graphic scenes like that but
its mostly sword fights and someone gets cut.
The OAV's rule! you get to see and hear Takasugi and
Katsura!
Anime fact Hiko Seijuro (Kenshin) and
Char the Red Comet (Gundam) are both voiced by Ikeda
Seuchi (sorry if I misspelled his name)
