This one is aimed at Char... any idea what the name of Amuro's mobile suit from Zeta is? also, know any good Zeta or UC sites? Char totally rules in Zeta he's a great character.

Well, theres a lot of Gundams I like. I can't pick a specific one. They all have their own special looks, designs and accessories...

Zeta is alright for just a mainstream suit.

NT Al and Kamp are always entertaining to look at just because of their defense and weapons.

Gouf Custom has that kickin' huge gun.

Physalis has the enormous shoulder binders and atomic bazooka.

Sazabi, Dogas, Assault and Turn A for their unique looks and designs.

Nu for his fannels.

Dragon and Nataku for their dragons.

X Divider for his shield.

The G-Units for their alternate modes.

And the Gundam Sentinels just for their beefed up steroids look.

A lot of cool Gundam looks out there.

Ah, Midvalley the Hornfreak, the man who plays the greatest music on the greatest stage in the world. Seeing as my screen mane is Midvalley's Sax, I'll be glad to tell you all I know about the Master of Sound.

First off, Middie is one of the few GHG who rlues in both versions and that's even after getting a major personallity change. I'll explain: while Anime Middie is very loyal to Legato, Manga Middie plots with Wolfwood to kill Vash and Knives and dies when he tries to kill Legato.

Anime Middie has some really neat lines, at least in the dub (I still haven't watched the orignal version of the last tape yet, can you believe it?). His voice is very fitting in both versions, unlike his partner in crime Hopperd. In the manga, Middie wears a white suit while in the naime he waers black. I think he looks snazzy in either.

In the manga, Middie is Wolfwood's bud in the GHG. Sure, they hold each other at gunpoint, but what friends don't This is why there's so much yoai about Wolfwood and Middie besides the fact that chick dig both very much.

Middie calls his sax Sylvia (in the anime at least). His little gift is to resonate sound witht he sensation of pain. Or something. He kills you with soundwaves, basicly. The coolesthing about this is that he can accually TARGET individuals, unlike most sonic attacks that just shoot indiscriminate waves.

Now, finally, their deaths. Anime Midvalley gets his sax disabled by Vash, so he shoots the gund built into the sax, knowing that they'll backfire and turn the sax into a frag grenade. He gets killed real good by that. Manga Middie tries to kill Legato because he's so dangerous to humanity. This of course fails. Legato sees it coming and makes Hopperd shoot Middie through the chest. Legato the GRINDS Middie into the ground with his big bike. Later, he reanimates the corpse to shoot Hopperd and Meryl, which Vash stops.

The main diffrence between the two Middie is that Manga Middie thinks Vash and Knives are monsters that need to be destroyed. He's a humanitarian in that he tries to preserve the human race.

I hope that helped. Till next time *starts playing Permanant Vacation on a baritone sax*.

Oh, one more thing. If you like Middie like I do (obsessive like) be sure to check out the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, whose bari sax player was the insperation for Middie (and he really does look like him!!). The TSPO did ths soundtrack for Incredible Crisis and the Lupin III theme.

Thanks Legato, whoa Midvalley just totally rules doesnt he? He's my fav GHG. Would Knives be considered part of the GHG's? Now I really gotta try and make a custom Midvalley seeing as how Kaiyodo might not be making one...

I dont know about my fav Gundam, but my fav mobile suit is Char's Rick Dias.

As Elendira explained to Legato in a recent YKO chapter: the GHG were Knives' personal army before Legato used them for his own selfish purposes.

The rank goes like this:
Knives
|
|
Legato & Elendira
|
|
The Eye of Michael Organization
*Note* Each EoM member is worth three spots in the GHG.
|
|
The Gung Ho Guns

Don't ask me anything about the Eye of Michael, all I know is that they worship Knives as God and I think Wolfwood is one of the organization (but I'm pretty sure that he believes in THE God). Oh, and they all have Cross Punishers (The one known as 'Double Fang' has two! One on each arm!)

Hope that helped.

Geez! I leave the board for a week, and look what happened!

Anyways, welcome to the club, toji_suzuhara and Vegeto 24. If you need to know anything about Tenchi Muyo, Bubblegum Crisis, or any other anime, I'm your man. While Legato is the resident Trigun expert, Kulilin is the HNK afficianado, and Char is the Gundam professional, I'm the guy to turn to for info on any of the Tenchi series.

By the way, Vegeto 24, I know for certain that Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam 08, and Pilot Candidate are coming to Cartoon Network soon. But as for Escaflowne, Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun, I'll believe those rumors when I see them.

Only 29 days left until Akira on DVD is released! Brace yourselves...

Also, referring to my last anime post, what pre-existing property (i.e. video game, manga, etc.) would you like to see as an anime?

I recently got the Ranma 1/2 OAVs on DVD. Got them today infact. I haven't watched them yet, simply because my life is now ruled by FF8 When I do get around to watching them, I shall be sure to post a review.

Now, onto the few posts concerning Bebop, Evangelion, Escaflowne, Trigun etc. coming to CN. I would very much like to know where this information came from. Personally, I think it's as false as a false thing on false day. Although it's second hand source, PN usually keeps tabs on the Toonami schedule. They haven't reported even a possiblity of those shows coming. I also don't think that CN, nice as they are about editing, would barely edit Bebop. Personally, I'd love to see an uncut version of episode 5 air, it's not going to happen. Especially with Evangelion. Too many relgigious refrences for "children's" TV's taste I believe. And we all saw what happened when Escaflowne aired on Fox (it was butchered). I think the line up of DB, DBZ, 0079, and (bleh) Cardcaptors is fine. I'd get rid of Cardcaptors and replace it with either Outlaw Star (I don't like it, but a lot of other people do) or Sailor Moon (see comment on Outlaw Star). Well, there's my two cents. Keep the change.

"pilot canidate gundam"...

The title is Mobile Suit Gundam...

"0081"

I'm guessing you mean either 0080 War in the Pocket, 0083 Stardust Memory, or maybe the 8th MS Team...

Bah, get your information correct.

Where exactly did you see this "press conference?" And don't give me that deal where you "forgot" where you "saw it." There is no way cowboy bebop or trigun would air "barely cut." That would be nuts. Anyway, "pilot candidate gundam?" "first series?" ummmmmmm no. Pilot candidate is one series, Gundam is another.

Recently, several items of Rumiko Takahashi merchandise came into my possession. They were the translated Vol. 1 tankos of Inu Yasha and Ranma 1/2, and the Ranma OAVs on DVD. These are my thoughts:

Ranma OAVs: Typical Ranma fare. In other words, I loved it. If you have the cash and even the slightest intrest in Ranma, get this set. It's just plain good.

Ranma 1/2 Vol. 1 TT (Translated Tanko): Pretty much the same thoughts as above: I loved it, get it, etc. The only thing that I didn't like was the handling of the "incompitant bruse" joke. Not that they [Viz] could've really handled it without leaving the original character on Kuno's head, but personally, I think that's fine. They did their best, and it comes out sorta funny, but not as funny.

Inu Yasha: A LOT more grosser than I was expecting. I have a problem with gor as many of you know, and between the centepede deamon chick taking a literal chunk out of a horse, and the fact that when you first see her, she has not flesh on her lower body, and that NASTY tounge, and the fact that Inu Yasha basicly shreds her into chunks, and that demon crow LIVING IN THAT THUGS CHEST AND POPPING OUT LATER! Ick. I hope it gets less meat eaty later on and more sword cutty. Although Yura of the Hair was neat, and quite easy on the eyes too.

Also, after listening to Kuno's dub voice for a bit, I have come to this realization: the guy who does him (Ted Cole) also does dubbed Wufei!!! Seeing as both dubs were done by the Ocean Group, this doesn't surprize me at all. Also, if you listen closly to some of Ranma's classmates, you can hear a very obvious Terry "Kuririn" Klassen doing some of the voices.

Well, that's all for now. Good bye.

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of Takahashi's work too. I just recently got Urusei Yatsura, and Ranma 1/2 #1s for a pretty good deal. I saw the Ranma OVA box set at my local HMV, but I passed it up since I already bought Burn Up W, Slayers Box set, and evangelion dvd's. How many minutes do the ranma OVA's run anyway, and what kind of extras are on there?

Here's more Ranma info.
There may be a few voices that sound familiar to you when you are watching Ranma. Ranma has a very famous VA cast. Here's a brief run down.

Female Cast: The female cast is very famous, and have even formed their own singing group: Doco

Megumi Hayashibara(Ranma-chan)- The most famous VA in Japan, other memorable roles include Faye Valentine, Rei Ayanami, and Lina Inverse.

Noriko Hidaka(Akane Tendo)- Also plays Jean in Nadia: Secret of the Bluewater, and Soujiro from Kenshin.

Kikuko Inoue(Kasumi Tendo)- Also known for playing Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess, Electra from Nadia, and Rune Venus from ElHazard.

Rei Sakuma(Shampoo)- Plays Morrigan in Nightwarriors, and Jiji(Kiki's cat) in Miyazaki's masterpiece Kiki's Delivery service.

Saeko Shimazu(Kodachi Kuno)- Can also be found in another Takahashi anime(Urusei Yatsura) as Shinobu, as well as Yuri in Dirty Pair.

Minami Takayama(Nabiki Tendo)- Plays Kiki in Kiki's delivery Service, and Dilandau in Escaflowne.

Hiromi Tsuru(Ukyou)- Who's famous for playing Meryl Strye from Trigun, Bulma ffrom what else, Dragonball, and Madoka from KOR

That's it for the female cast, up next, the famous male cast.

If I remember correctly Akane's VA's also does Kikyou from Inu Yasha. Yeah Ranma has some great VA's.

Inu Yasha is really a great series, I think its Rumiko's best work so far. The story gets good later on once all the good characters come in, Miroku,Zango and Naraku...

Im happy cause according to UPS ill be getting my IY plush tomorrow, Inu Yasha and Miroku KAWAII!

The Ranma OAVs extras:

First off, I should note that they're all on the third disc. The extras include (from the back of the box):
Billingual (Japanese and English)
English Subs
Scene Access
Character Profiles and info
Music Videos (accually, they're just textless openings. Very nice though, and some arn't shown on the regular eps.)
Trailers (Quite a bit accually, under the Viz section on the third disc. Video Girl Ai, Maison Ikkyu, and all the Ranma movies, shows, etc. are the only ones that came to mind)

I knew about Uyko, but never put the pieces together (ie. I knew Yuko played Meryl also, and that Meryl played Bulma, but never put together that Yuko played Bulma. Make any sense?)

As for Inu Yasha, I'll stick with it, simply because I like the idea of a priest with a black hole in his hand. That and the awesome fanfic about him called Spider Games, found in the fanfiction section at this site: http://www.ravenschildren.com/fangirl/

Also check out the main attraction of the site: Trigun, the Virtual Third Season which is an EXELENT onrunning fic, and also the Ranma 1/2 fic there. That fic is pretty much what made Ryoga my favorite character, tied with Kuno. Then again, I like pretty much everyone except Ranma. And that shrivled turd Happosai. Annoying old letch.

Continued from the last post, here is the male VA list.

Kôichi Yamadera(Ryoga)- Probrably the most recognizable VA, also played Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop and Captain Harlock.

Toshihiko Seki(Mousse)- Plays, well, you should know this Legato, Legato Bluesummers, and Duo Maxwell.

Yûji Mitsuya(Dr. Tofu)- Dragonball VA, plays Kaioshin and Greggory.

Hirotaka Suzuoki(Kuno)- Also another Dragonball VA, playing Tien.

Kappei Yamaguchi(Ranma Saotome)- Not really that famous. The only other thing I've seen him in is Lodoss as Etoh.

Anyway, the best Ranma couple? That's a tough call. Every couple seems to have some fundamental flaw, that completely makes them unworkable. Ranma and Akane would be a good pair up, but since Ranma is such an arrogant moron, it'll never happen. Mousse and Shampoo would work, if only Shampoo could forget about tradition and just like the guy for who he is, even though she could easily tool him. I think the Nabiki, Kuno pair up would be pretty good, but they are both pretty arrogant to notice one another, so that would never happen.

Anyway, as for favorite character, it's gotta be Shampoo. Just can't go wrong with that purple hair. *Drools*, mmmmmm purple hair.

If you haven't already guessed, I am Legato Bluesummers. Seeing as I'm done Trigun, I decided to change my name. So now I'm my favorite Ranma 1/2 character: Ryoga Hibiki. Oh, BTW, I will flame anyone who makes a P-Chan joke. I'm serious.

Sanjuro...you're Chi Master, correct? I like your new name. Anyone who names themselves after Kurosawa characters, or even better, Mifune characters, gains much respect in my eyes.

I like ShampooXMousse too. Accually, I just like Mousse, as I sincearly hate Shampoo. She irks me.

Man, now I want to go watch Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, and Sanjuro. Hey, did you know Mifune is also in this show called Samurai, based off of a famous novel about the history of samurai. He plays the best rurouni ever, though I am unsure on the exact name. Something along the lines of Murahashi I believe.

Well, I'm out of here. I have to go to Furnikan High and defeat that cad Saotome. Now which way was it???

May I add a bit to the male VA list?

Kôichi Yamadera(Ryoga)- Also does Kaji (EVA)

Hirotaka Suzuoki(Kuno)- Also does Saitoh from Kenshin

Kappei Yamaguchi(Ranma Saotome)- Also does Inu Yasha (IY) and Usopp (One Piece)

I think thats it.
