Also... There is no
nudity in the Kenshin OAV's
Trigun manga sounds cool, someone needs to
release it here, who cares if they mess up the drawings.
Another anime fact Freeza and Izuka (from the Kenshin
OAV's) are both voiced by Naoko Ryuusei

Wow, we hit 7 pages!
Seems like yesterday we were barely on 6!
Anywho, I'm getting a Trigun fanmanga in the mail
soon and maybe perhaps some of the regular manga. Also,
I now run a Trigun site.
Trigun Anime/Manga Comparison #2: Anime: Zazie the
beast is shot by Wolfwood as he threatens Vash, Milly,
and Meryl with his two little pistols. Manga: Zazie
is sheared in half by Hoppard the Gantret. A new Zazie
appears soon after.

I first saw Akira
when it aired on the Sci-Fi Channel back in 1996. Let me
tell you, it was one of those things that initially got
me hooked on anime. I would love to go to the Times
Square release, but alas, I'm stuck here in Boca Raton,
Florida for the forseeable future (meaning I won't be
done with my first year of college until May 3rd), and
thus, will be unable to see it. Rest assured, though,
that I WILL get the Akira DVD the moment in comes out
(which is July 3rd, but I have a feeling that it may
come out later). Also, I recently ordered the Akira
graphic novels (or "phonebooks", as they are
delightfully called) off of the web, and should be
getting them once I return home (again, on May 3rd).
By the way, Legato, did you know that they released a
sequel manga series to Trigun called Trigun Maximum?
Also, it looks like FOX won't be getting Slayers
after all (too bad for them, because I'm going to get it
[it being the entire series] on DVD when I get home).

Actually, BUSHV88,
there are supposed to be six, with one coming out every
three months (meaning that it'll be March 2002 by the
time the sixth Akira "phonebook" is released.

About Kenshin
manga....
Well there's no official US Translated Manga yet, you
could wait because Kenshin is getting popular so there
is a chance it can come out here.
But if you do get Japanese Manga you can find
translation for the entire series (all 28 volumes).
This thread will keep going, I got some new anime
so I can give some comments later.

Speaking of Kenshin,
I saw the OVA series this weekend, as well as the movie.
Both were very good (although I don't quite understand
why they called it Samurai X: The Motion Picture, when
the movie takes place in modern (TV) continuity.

Here's a question:
What's Princess Mononoke like? I saw the trailer for
it on my Clerks: Uncut and it looks slow paced to me...
but it's got a lot of rave reviews...
What's it like?

Princess is a good
movie. There's some gore but not much. Some action...
great... I repeat great story. Let me put it
this way, of all the anime movies I've watched, this is
the only one my parents liked, which is a lot to say..

To add to what
ss_trunks just said, Princess Mononoke is the greatest
movie of all time. No exageration. Everything in this
movie is great, from the asian, western blend of music,
to the fluid animation, and the majestic backgrounds.
GREAT story too, as ss_trunks already said. Although, I
don't think it's really a parent kind of movie, as he
explained it as. There's a couple of decapitations, and
mass animal carnage. Nothing too bad though. Roger Ebert
even put this movie on his list of top 10 movies of
1999. If you have a DVD player, GET THIS MOVIE. One
of the best video transfers I've seen. Super vivid
colours, great sound. I also reccomend another
Miyazaki flick, The Castle of Cagliostro.

Mononoke Hime is a
great film. I guess SOME parts are slow paced, but there
is also plenty of action.
C'mon, any movie where a guy can sever heads with a
bow & arrow is worth a watch...

Princess Monoknoke is
one of the best movies in the entire world!!!! And it's
not slow paced at all, It's really long though... the
animating is superb (thats why disney put out the
film....well ok its a company of disney (Buena Vista)
same thing). It can get very bloody... but theres no
(Al) gore ....thank
god! If you mean gore is guts falling out and brains
falling out of skulls theres no Fist of the North Star
kinda gore...but if gore to you is heads and limbs
falling off.. yes there is gore....... But I think this
is one of Miazaki (I think thats how ya spell it )best films.

Geeze, BUSHV88, get
with the program, his name is Miyazaki- that's Hayao
Miyazaki, the most successful anime director, producer
of all time. That's M-I-Y-A-Z-A-K-I. I also posted his
name in my above post for crying out loud! Well, I
guess you can't expect all that much from a George Bush
supporter. :P

I thought Princess
Mononoke was incredible. It had everything a good anime
movie should, from the story, all the way down to the
characters and overall message of the film. In fact, I
gave a copy to a friend for her birthday, and she was
hooked. I can't wait to see more films by Miyazaki
(considering how soon Disney releases them; until then,
I'll just wait to rent Kiki's Delivery Service and My
Neighbor Totoro when I return home).
By the way, I have seen Nadesico (just the first
three episodes), and already I am thirsting for more.

'Totoro' was possibly
the worst experiance I ever had with anime...
That movie sucked out loud. It was funny I guess, but
not really. It was like watching DBZ:The Yajirobi
Special. I guess he's funny, but not really...You know?
I suppose it's OKAY at best. I'd rather watch the TV
Guide channel...

Kiki's delivery
service is an awesome movie. Again, great story, but
kind of for younger kids. Disney's supposed to be
bringing out another Miyazaki film, Laputa: Castle in
the Sky, sometime this year, or maybe in 2002.
